Mika Kallio is currently employed as Project Manager in the Information and Research Division at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland and is responsible for the project coordination of the Horizon 2020 ERA-NET Cofund Action “ForestValue - Innovating the forest-based bioeconomy”. Mika has been involved in several international EU Framework Programme projects, and prior to joining the FP6 ERA-NET Action WoodWisdom-Net in 2004 and today ForestValue, he has worked in a variety of positions both in public and private sector.

Mika is also running a small company of his own, which - among other things - provides consultancy to Finnish SMEs in their internationalization efforts. Furthermore, Mika has taken a number of professional courses such as a professional examination in company leadership, SME Economics and SME Leadership as well as an examination of verified national consultants assisting Finnish companies and research organisations in their efforts to participate in the EU Framework Programmes.
